December 2023 Updated ~ Requests

Often people will ask for requests from me, and I'm happy to oblige. Be of note though some general guidelines:

I offer some requests periodically on a first come first serve basis.

I accept or decline requests at my discretion. If it's subject matter I'm not comfortable with, or if it just doesn't pique my interest, I will decline.

I am NOT an art machine/photocopier/AI Generator. It takes me time to do requests so have patience.

I do this as a hobby, for FUN in my free time. I have a full time job and other real life obligations, so again, patience is required.

My request status is posted in my tagline on my Deviant page/front page. This will give you an indicator if I am accepting requests, and how many at the present time. READ IT!

Requests should be posted as a comment on my Deviant page/front page, a comment on this journal, or in a note to me, NOT shoehorned into deviation page comments. It's easier for me to keep track of who's requested what, when and where.

Keep the request size to a reasonable amount. One to three maybe four characters is reasonable for a single drawing request. Five to ten to more is NOT a reasonable amount.

When I've taken on a request from you, please don't repeatedly message me with "is my request done yet" over and over. That is internet spam. As stated above, I have other obligations, and patience and manners are a must.

If you've recently received a request completion from me, don't just keep piling the requests on, let other people have a turn. Rule of thumb would be a month or more 'cool down' period before I consider it.

As an indicator of if I've accepted your request, I'll likely have commented back to you, or at least hit the little heart 'like button' on your comment. I have a running list, so if you've made a request at some point and I've acknowledged it, it's in there, you don't need to keep re-requesting it on multiple places/deviations.

If I turn you down on the basis of time/availability, don't fret; just ask again in a month or so, my schedule might have opened up again by that point.

If I turn you down based on subject matter/interest: that doesn't permanently "disqualify" you, it just means to try a different subject or request at a later date.

If (for certain people) you keep repeatedly posting/asking for the same thing over and over, and I've deleted those comments, that is a sign of a hard NO. (or in some few instances, that I already have it noted down on my to do list, BE Patient!)

It's Alive!

Wow, I never use this journal. Oh well, anyways...
For those who have seen me about here on deviantArt, and even a handful of Deviants who watch me (yay fans!) I wanted to put up an update about my art and stuff.
As of a while ago ish, I've decided to take Requests and Commissions! So feel free to drop me a line and ask about either. If the subject matter interests me, and my day job schedule isn't too brutal, I'd be glad to take on some work. Requests (for free) would likely be simple stuff, done at "my pace", and be delivered "as is". Commissions (for $$) would be for more detailed work with your review/approval before delivery, and a "firmer" delivery date.
As a loose example: a single character drawing would be a free request (dependent on my schedule), and a drawing of multiple characters in one piece would likely be a commission (with an agreed upon turn around time).
As for subject matter/medium: I do pencil drawings, plus simple digital inking, plus optional simple digital coloring; some sprite art; and Perler Bead work ~ although for that I have to do a bit more research on what postage requirements and costs might be.

My Lineart~

Every now and then I get inspired to draw up some fanart or semi original stuff, and occasionally I even have time to post it on Deviant Art. For any of my line arts that I have posted in my gallery, feel free to color them if you wish; I simply ask that you link back to the original deviation in your description and drop me a note with a link to your deviation so that I can Fav it and put the link of your coloration into the description section of my line art. Thanks a load, and happy coloring! ~ Flood

To Otakon 2011!

1 min read
It's that time of year again, when the Otaku invade Baltimore! Whoo-hoo! I can't wait to meet up with a couple of buddies I haven't seen in a while, as well as seeing all of the awesome cosplayers and the always fantastic AMV Contest and Friday Night Parodies!

This year I'll be cosplaying as Willy Wonka, the 1971 Gene Wilder version for a bunch on Friday and then Ichigo Kurosaki, classic Shinigami style for a while on Saturday. I'd go all day as Ichigo, but the flats that I made into straw sandals are murder on your feet once you approach the five hour mark or beyond (experience from Toracon). I might also rock out my Harry Dresden costume on the opposite side of Saturday. So keep an eye out for me, say hi, take some pictures.

March of Dimes

So this year I'm walking for the March of Dimes in my hometown with a bunch of my co-workers and fellow teachers. Any support would be greatly welcomed; thoughts, prayers, donations, or if you're local (relative to me) coming to Durand Eastman Park in Rochester NY and showing your support for all those walking/marching. Here's a link: www.marchforbabies.org/ryant1 Please show your support (for me, or for anyone that you might know personally that is doing this in your hometown).
